Hy I´m Alfonso and I am going to to talk about the asperger syndrome.
Asperger syndrome (AS) is a severe developmental disorder, considered a
neuro-biological disorder in which there are deviations or abnormalities in the
following areas of development:
-
In most
cases motor clumsiness.
- Connections and social skills.
- Use of language for communication purposes.
- Behavioral
characteristics related to repeated or persistent features.
First, both the family and the teaching staff will need to acquire
experience and knowledge in this area and to have access to resources and
specific programs.
A research review on the range and variety of resources available for
children with asperger, reveals that the education of these children requires
acquisition of prior experience.
Professionals in this area warn of the need to develop specialized
knowledge of this field such as:
-
Those
responsible for education access should enable the teaching staff to these
professionals for advice and work patterns.
-
The
specialized professional can visit classrooms to observe the child and based on
that observation provide guidelines, strategy, resources or propose specific
training.
-
Encourage
the child to be more sociable, cooperative and flexible, both when playing as
when working with other children.
-
Give
personalized attention to management and understanding of emotions: affective
education.
-
Support
the child in developing interests as a means of improving motivation, talent
and knowledge.
-
Encourage
conversation skills.
-
To
offer remedial classes to improve on the weaknesses of the child's learning.
Finally, I would like to emphasize that proper education should also
be based on a comprehensive assessment of the child's abilities, skills, social
reasoning, careful selection of the educational environment and access by the
teaching staff to information and resources and the development of a teamwork
approach. With this combination, we have the opportunity to significantly
improve the overall abilities of children with Asperger's Syndrome.
