MUSICAL CHAIRS
The ¨musical
chairs¨ group was the first to expose, what means, in my opinion, an added difficulty.
First they
started with the definition of cooperative learning. Then they continued with
the characteristics of learning where the teacher must know their students. The
teacher is a guide, they should work in groups and know each other.
They talked about
the inclusive classrooms book and then developed the techniques that the
teacher asked.
Regarding the
game I found it very entertaining where we have to prepare a box with the place
that touched us, having to look for relevant aspects about the culture and paint
this aspects, decorating the box for presentation.
Each group had to
go out and expose their box and tell it to other colleagues.
About
coevaluation:
You must be fair,
and put the name of your team in case we want to ask something about your
evaluation.
We have to explain the points where we have to
improve.
AMIGOS DEL FÚTBOL
with respect to
this group I have to emphasize that its introduction has seemed more attractive
when paying attention to work.
First of all they
start with an index where they tell us how is going to be their work.
Then they cite
the rules that you have to follow if you want to work in teams.
After that they deal
with the definition of cooperative learning, where they add something new to
the previous group and talking about the advantages and disadvantages which had
not been done in other work.
After this other
issue that had not been done before and is the organization of the class with
their respective types of equipment involved. They work with a summary in
conclusion concluded so exposing the main ideas. This I found very interesting
because after talking you highlight the main ideas and concepts discussed, but
it is true that with regard to the presentation I had taken so much slide text
and would have more photos that would have been more visual, otherwise I liked,
I think it has been pretty good.
With respect to
the activity that we had to do, it was quite funny because there was a ball on
each group and we had to pass it to the others saying your likes and when the
time finished the one who had the ball has to go to the front of the class and
say it.
I think this is a
good way of working with the objetive of the game which was knowing each other
better.
TEAM PEARK
With respect to this group they started introducing all the points
that their work will consists.
The first that they did was given us some tips to star doing a
cooperative work. Then they started explained how they did the groups, which
was the criteria, explaning us that depending on the level of the student (low,
médium or high) it could be differentiated.
After this they started taling about the way that the class is
distribuited and they did something that any team did and was taking the
pictures in a real school in spite of taking then fromo a book. Then they
continious explaining the thecniques that the teacher said.
At the end we finish with the activity which consists in puting all
the members of the team in a circle with a ball. The objetive was passing the
ball to a friend saying on rule and when the time finish the one who has the
ball has to go to the blackboard and write all the rules that each team said.
CRÓNICAS VIAJERAS
This groups
starts with something new, they introduce the topic of the cooperative learning
with the question why is it important.
After that they started
introducing us the type of groups that we can have, the exporadic, base and
expert. Their presentation was focused like a travel around the world where you
have different type of groups, the base one which would be the people who are
in the plane and go with you during all the trip, and the exporadic group would
be a small group created for a concrete activity.
I really liked
the activity that they purposed , where all of us had to bring from our house
one object which remind us one important travel and why it was so good.
One person of
each group went to the front of the class and explained one of the objets that was
the most relevant and we compared the histories between groups.
The objetive of
this activity was to know each other
better, and i think it´s a really good way for doing this.
DUMBLEDORE
TEACHERS´ ARMY
This group has made a original presentation
because they have used the ¨Daily Prophet¨from Harry Potter as the base,
showing their ideas in the different pages of the newspaper, which in my
opinion is really interesting buecause everybody likes Harry Potter and it´s a
way of making a funny presentation.
Promoting learning techniques:
Problem sets, homework is done in groups so
that children can see that if someone doesn't work at home they see how they
can be isolated from their group. By knowing how they work the teacher can see
who works or not, and he can structure new groups and try to solve these
problems of participation.
Labs and projects the teacher has an individual
test about the subject
Peer lead team, a problem is given to a team
and a guide is going to help the students to solve it but without giving the
answer.
Peer editing, each pair check the work from other group, and finally
each group correct their own work taking into account the opinion of the other
group.
In my opinion the theorical part of this presentation was not bad,
but the problem is that they didn´t make a good presentation.
MODERN STUDENTS
As a new idea is trust, confidence, we must
trust our mates, because is important that if we want someone to do something
we must trust him and think that he will do it. Importance of visual contact,
cooperative learning is not preparing everything separately. We must talk,
debate, and give a feedback after the work is done.
Here there are some tips for teachers, we must form teams of 3-4
people, which have to be heterogeneous, we must promote positive
interdependence by making them assume different roles; providing individual
accountability, someone is responsible for ensuring that everyone understands
everything; help students to develop teamwork skills with team rules; the teacher
must supervise the group so that he can help them to solve the internal
problems; we as teachers have to explain them why and what are they doing this;
finally we must give them a feedback!.
The activity that we did with this group was so funny, because
everyone has a sticker on his face and can not speak, so you have to search the
rest of the people who have the same stiker color as you and get together. It
was really funny because you can´t speak so you have to work with the people
trying to help them and organice them.
